The results of your test will be analysed by sleep experts trained by the NHS who will provide you with your report and diagnosis within two working days.

For the most comprehensive assessment of OSA, we recommend the home sleep test with a consultation, which we offer as a package. The consultation is with a consultant sleep specialist and is an opportunity to discuss your sleep, test results and treatment options in depth. We guarantee our results will be accepted in any NHS clinic. To discuss payment through medical insurance please contact us.

What is the Home Sleep Test?

What is a Home Sleep Test?

Dr. David Garley provides a detailed overview of the WatchPAT 100, a convenient home sleep test designed for diagnosing sleep apnea.

Dr. Garley walks you through the steps of wearing the device, ensuring you understand how to use it correctly for accurate results. He also explains the process of analysing the test data and our quick turnaround time, with reports being sent back to patients within two working days.

If you order the combination package, you will receive a re-usable device called a WatchPAT 300.

Home Sleep Test and Consultation

For our combination package, we provide a returnable home sleep test kit that makes the entire process straightforward.

After completing your overnight test, simply place the device back in the pre-paid postage bag and dispatch it to us within 5 days. We understand that life can be busy, so if you anticipate any difficulties meeting this timeframe, just contact us, and we'll be happy to send a single-use device with a more flexible return window. Once we receive your device, you can book your detailed consultation to discuss your results.

What happens if I am diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea?

We offer a full package of treatment for OSA with CPAP which includes the CPAP machine, mask and accessories, a set-up appointment, 2 follow-ups and free ad-hoc advice whenever required.

If you would like us to provide your diagnosis, but have treatment through the NHS, then we are very happy to support this referral process. We guarantee our results will be accepted in any NHS sleep clinic.

What does the home sleep test measure?

The home sleep test measures a number of different things:

  1. Blood oxygen levels

  2. Heart rate

  3. Nervous system activity (called peripheral arterial tone, or PAT)

  4. Movement (known as actigraphy)

  5. Snoring pattern and volume

  6. Chest movement and breathing effort

  7. Body position

This information is put together to decide whether your body is going through repeated episodes of stopped breathing, or other changes associated with different sleep disorders. This is in addition to the fascinating details on your nightly sleep architecture including the amount of time spent in the different stages of REM and non-REM sleep (also known as light, deep and dreaming sleep).
